Our Patron

Marion Stevenson

Marion is the founder of Charity Mentors Oxfordshire and became our chair in 2013. She retired as chair in 2018 but, we are delighted to say, she agreed to become our patron. Marion started her career in 1972 as a probation officer before moving in 1989 to become a family mediator for Oxfordshire Family Mediation for 22 years. She was Director of Oxfordshire Family Mediation from 2004 until 2011 and was a mediation trainer for National Family Mediation for 10 years.  Marion qualified as a psychodrama psychotherapist in 1996 and has also worked as a Conciliator for the Health Authority and a Restorative Justice facilitator.

In 1995 Marion founded and chaired Oxford Community Mediation, a neighbourhood mediation service which merged into Berkshire Resolve in 2005.  In 2014 Marion and a colleague started the Step Change Fund, a philanthropy ‘circle’ based in Oxfordshire Community Foundation, which gives grants of up to £50,000 to charities for infrastructure projects that strengthen capacity impact and reach.  Currently Marion is leading a pilot in Bullingdon Prison through the employment of a Prison Officer with responsibility to connect the prison with community resources.
